"The problem is that no one believes in recipes"

When it comes to baking, there are two kinds of people in this world: those who follow precise recipes and measurements and those who donít need to.

You don't have to question what you see. The rest of the world has to question what they didn't see.

I like those. It's fun to read old recipes.

Smart ones. You know what you need a recipe for, if you're trying something new. If you've done it a million times, or you know the basics to play around with it, you don't need a recipe. That's the way I look at it.

Which is why my daughter sent me the above. She gets frustrated with me because I get frustrated with her because I just expect her to have caught on somewhere along the way.

She does follow recipes very well, though and turned out to be a decent cook and baker. I honestly didn't think she would; she was so resistant and stubborn about EVERYTHING. Having a family of your own changes perspectives.

We have family recipes from 150 years back, they had to be written down.

Never use a recipe cooking. I would always use a recipe baking. If I ever baked anything.

    Was someone held at gunpoint?
