Thread: EZ Ryder

  1. #1

    EZ Ryder

A thread for motorcycle talk, Q&A, or just post pics and brag your ride.

As for me, I use to build 30 years ago, I had to give it up, but now I'm back at it again, more to follow.

Let me guess, your legs are too short to reach the pedals?

No, not mine, I wish I owned that....

Mine is still on the drawing board. I have almost enough to start mock up, still need one or two things and warmer weather.

I have 88" twin cam out of an '06 dyna that will be the heart of it. I'll be doing most of the fab work myself, frame, front end, etc...etc...

    That's a nice ride.

And yes, I have a long ways to go, but taking my time has been part of my plan from the start, originally planning on 2-3 years to complete. A couple of factors figure in to my build, first off, I'm not planning to ride anything two wheeled until I'm 62, still a couple years away and second, building a bike that fits me, see I'm a big guy, 6'2" and 300lbs, the third thing being economics, under 4k is my goal.

My brother, who was a diehard honda guy is large too, he's 6'5" and 280lbs, he always rode honda, well recently he came into some money and he bought a '17 wide glide, the '17 wide glide looks like a sports bike with his lanky ass riding it, some of my buds said they laughed their asses off the first time they saw him ride it to bike night at the local saloon, they thought he looked like a fish out of water, this big tall guy riding this short, low slung factory raked 37 degree harley. That's never going to be me. I'm building an old school look chopper with exaggerated dimensions, longer and taller, big seat, big gas tank over length front end......

This is what my brother bought...around 17k on the showroom floor.

Although he won't admit it, I figure the only reason he bought that model was because he thinks it's chopper like, forward controls and raked front end, ghost flames paint, I think he bought it because he knew that I was planing to start a build, something he hasn't seen me do for the last 30 years, he figured he'd get in the first punch, the way I see it he whiffed, he got himself a big inch sports bike that's a far cry from an old school chopper.
