TxDoT came up with the slogan "Don't Mess With Texas" to help reduce littering in 1985, and it spread like the rumor of gold, like a range fire in a dust devil, like a ho in a mining camp, like ice cream on a 150-degree sidewalk, like ants poured from a jar ... nowutmsayin? In 2006, it won a national slogan contest over "Got Milk?" and "Just Do It".

TxDoT's campaign worked. Littering was reduced over 30%, or so they say*.

*Truth be known, all the litterbugs moved to the Northeast, where they just do it to this day. Cool slogan though.

Texas is a big reason why we are in this mess of an invasion problem, though. So they curbed some littering but brought in more trash.

Look it up. It was Texas that first pushed for giving free education to illegals.
